HCC Awards Criteria

Best Batsman:
The batsman with the most runs in regular season
In case of a tie between 2 or more batsmen, the batsman with the better batting average shall be ranked higher.
In the case of a tie between batting averages, the batsman scoring higher in the first game he played shall be ranked higher.

Second Best Batsman:
The batsman with the second most runs in the regular season
In case of a tie between 2 or more batsmen, the batsman with the better batting average shall be ranked higher.
In the case of a tie between batting averages, the batsman scoring higher in the first game he played shall be ranked higher.

Best Bowler:
The bowler with the most number of wickets in the regular season
In case of a tie between 2 or more bowlers, the bowler with the better bowling average shall be ranked higher.
In the case of a tie between bowling averages, the bowler getting the most number of wickets in the first game he played shall be ranked higher.

Second Best Bowler
The bowler with the second most number of wickets in the regular season
In case of a tie between 2 or more bowlers, the bowler with the better bowling average shall be ranked higher.
In the case of a tie between bowling averages, the bowler getting the most number of wickets in the first game he played shall be ranked higher.

Best Fielder:
The fielder with the most number of Fielding points.
A catch and a run out(direct hit, or assisting the keeper, bowler/another fielder) shall be awarded 1 point each.
A catch by a wicket keeper equals 1/3 rd of a point and a stumping nets 1/2 point.
A wicket keeper can get a full point for catches taken as a fielder and run outs.

1st Fifty:
Awarded to the batsman who scores the first fifty runs in an innings.
In case of two batsmen reaching 50's in the same inning, the batsman that reached the mile stone first shall be awarded the honor.

1st 4 wickets:
Awarded to the bowler who gets the first 4 wicket haul in an innings.
In case of two bowlers getting 4 wickets in the same inning, the bowler that reached the mile stone first shall be awarded the honor.

Man of the Match:
Awarded to an exceptional performance by an individual that helps the team win a game. It could be with the bat, ball or both.
The team shall collectively choose this honor.
In the case of two outstanding and comparable performances, the captain or the team shall either choose on the field or can choose to vote later.

Restricted category
Presidents Choice:
A recognition by the president to deserving team members for outstanding performance and or contributions on or off the field.

Players Choice:
A recognition by the members of the club to deserving team members for outstanding performance and or contributions on or off the field. An entirely player nominated and selected award. The winners in regular categories shall be ineligible for this award.

Definitions:

Regular season: All games form the 40 over format, including any play off games. 20/20 over games shall be excluded.
Batting average: Total runs scored divided number of innings played. If the batsman has not batted that inning shall not be counted. If the batsman remains unbeaten that innings shall not be counted as innings scored, but the score shall be counted.
Bowling average: Total wickets taken divided by the number of overs bowled

Applicable notes:
1. Only regular members of the club who are in good status (paid for the current season) are eligible for all HCC awards for the season.
2. Guest members may vote for players choice but are not eligible for any of the awards.
3. The players who have already won the regular open competition awards are ineligible for the Players Choice award.
4. In the case of any disputes or conflicts in the determination of the awards, the team shall collectively attempt to resolve the issue. Failing which, the president shall have the final say.
