Match Report - Game 4

vs CC&SC

Result - Himalayan Won by 4 wkts

On a day when play seemed impossible due to rain Himalayan was fortunate to have a game and then finish it off with a well deserved win before the light faded. CCSC which showed up late at the ground had to forfeit the toss to Himalayan. Himalayan elected to field first.

Due to a delayed start CCSC was penalized and had a quota of 27 overs to play while Himalayan had 30 overs.

Deepak and the fierce Sarfaraz started himalayan’s bowling and bowled the first 5 overs as the batsman survived some very close calls. First five overs were wickless when the rain interrupted and match was delayed for about a hr. Rain has put our team to some extra effort to fix the pitch. Umpire reluctantly decides to continue the game on not so playable conditions and the play was stuck to one end of the wicket. Kunal our first change bowler brings the first break through as chandresh takes a well judged catch. Chandresh got us the second break through. Ram joined the fun and took the next 3 wkts in quick succession to put tabs on CCSC scores. CCSC scored 152 all out in 27 overs.

Ram and Chandresh opened the himalayan innings. The first wicket fell too soon leaving Himalayan in a bit of trouble. Kunal and Ram led the fight back and got to 90 runs partnership (could be a record for 1 down) in the first 16 overs with a healthy run rate. Kunal, was well set and looked inclined to make the first 50 but had an unfortunate end to his innings in run out. Soon Ram joined later batsmen who hit some cameos, but got out too soon. Ram got run out in the 26'th over with 20 runs required from 24 balls with 6 wickets to spare. Then with good effort from Vijay who stayed till the end, won with 1 ball to spare, after losing 2 more wickets. Overall, it was an entertaining performance to take to the last over and win the game in a great fashion.
Good Job guys !!!!

Man of the match - Ram 43 runs & 3 wkts
Standout innings - Kunal 42 runs & 1 wkt
